My conclusion is that therapists are only for people with superficial problems not actual issues that require tangible solutions.
My experience as well although I really want to try trauma therapy…

I can’t for the life of me figure out why you’re being downvoted. It’s absolutely true. Maybe it’s because people don’t understand what you mean by “liberal elites”? That’s not a synonym for democrat voters. It’s people who have been served by the status quo (neoliberalism) their whole lives and therefore see nothing wrong with it. Conservatives (especially the never trump or ambivalent about trump types) are just right wing liberals… conservatism falls under liberalism.

Ironic, considering most of us who need therapy struggle with relationships
As someone who’s had a uh… not great experience with mental health care, this story is totally believable to me.
I came of age before smart phones in NY. We had sex education. We had late night fuzzy adult TV stations that had porn on them and we had porno mags and what not. I got my first phone at 14 and it was an LG flip phone where you had to press the numbers multiple times to get the right letter to send a text, so texts were short. No internet or camera on the phone either. The iPhone came out in 2007, the same year I graduated high school. There were some proto “smart” phones that came out before like the blackberry and the sidekick but their “smart” features like the internet were cumbersome to use.
It was definitely different times but by no means were we living in the dark about sex, and society pushed sex pretty hard because it sells. Now I guess with the constant screen bombardment it feels inescapable but that’s tech in 2024 for ya.
Slightly unrelated, I’d be thrilled to get a blackberry similar to the one I had in college only add todays cameras, gps, spotify and snake for boredom and I’d be set.

I’m not religious nor Catholic but I never saw how scientific theory conflicted with the idea of god. Couldn’t it all just be “gods plan?” Sounds like the Catholic position is similar to that.

Yeah see that still works out to me as if there is a god similar to the abrahamic conception, all of life has been created in their image. From bacteria to man.
