Similar age, noticing the same. It never used to matter. Although I also used to have jobs where I was on my feet all day so I’m not sure what is aging and what is living a sedentary life. I usually have a handful of almonds in the afternoon and that’s fine. Also avoiding afternoon coffee seems to help.

But I’ve started walking for a half hour before work and after a couple weeks, I feel like I have more energy in general.

He also supported Texas’ attempt to sue Pennsylvania over the 2021 election like a dumb dumb. He’s only marginally less human garbage than jungle gym but I guess that’s where we’re at.

I started keeping a notebook with notes when making bread consumed my life. I have the recipe and then notes and future revisions written down. I’ve tried to digitize recipes but it’s too inconvenient and I always forget. So I just started a notebook for recipes and do the same thing and it’s worked out nice.

If I was smart, maybe a kitchen iPad or something would be better. But also my entire life is digital. It’s kinda nice to keep it out of the kitchen.

These threads are such a shit show. No one reads the article and then just has the conversation they want to have, other people who didn’t read the article think they’re summarizing it, and everyone walks away dumber.

The problem is the walled garden, both ecosystems have those features but they don’t work together. If all your friends have iPhones, there’s a lot of pressure to also have an iPhone. And once you’re in, you’re not likely getting out unless all your social circle does at once. That kind of lock in is extremely valuable.

Markup languages like HTML are declarative. That means you use it to describe the result you want but you don’t give it any instructions for how to actually do that. An imperative language is used to actually describe the behavior. Traditional programming languages are imperative. An imperative language is necessary to interpret the HTML and actually display the content in the desired way. You can’t use HTML to accomplish anything by itself. This distinction is why calling HTML a programming language is contentious.

I think the problem has grown bigger than just over hopped beers. Every beer fad just becomes an arms race to see who can get the most extreme and it takes over the smaller brewers. We used to love going to small breweries but they’re ridiculous now and have been for years with no end in sight. For a while, every beer was mouth blisteringly sour. We had disgustingly sweet dessert stouts for a while. And the juicy craze. The head brewer at my local brewery was bragging to me about having bought out his suppliers mango puree. Bro this is why I just go to the pub and drink Yuengling now.
