Ukraine is your neighbor, not ours.

So what's your government doing here?

[–] index -1 points 3 months ago

You don't have to wait, instead of wasting time commenting here you are free to join the front in ukraine

Give em full air support. If it causes world war 3, it causes world war 3. Fuck it

If you are so willing to die you can join the front and fight russia in ukraine. Don't drag other people and the rest of the world in.

Ukrainian people and russian people already lost the war, casualties are up to a million

I would be more worried about ads, memes and the government propaganda you see on instances like lemmy.world and global feed

That for me is what is ruining lemmy experience more than anything else. There are many tankies but they are usually self limited to their own instances.

Lemmy seem to have inherited reddit mechanics which are shaped after marketing and mass media advertising. Home feed is predated by shitpost and news from mainstream media. Serious subs suitable for discussions have hard time surfacing and this creates a loop where shitty subs keep get more popular.

That’s why it’s getting more people

They are getting more people because they are paying them and in bed with corporations.

There's no suspect you fit into the category of people that shitpost

There’s a very good reasons why people and organisations will pay for proprietary software when there is a free alternative available.

And there are also very good reasons why people and organisations are stopping relying on proprietary software and switching to open alternatives that won't lock them up.

[–] index 7 points 3 months ago

That has not much do to with FOSS but with the people you are working with. Proprietary software you can't even contribute freely to begin with

[–] index 12 points 3 months ago

it would be absolute chaos with no direction, conflicting goals, incomplete projects, and limited oversight

You are describing the current scenario where everything is proprietary
