Uhh, yeah, that's how federation works. The whole point is that we want to browse other instances that we are federated with in peace. You want to browse our communities without being mocked. We want to browse your communities without being mocked. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
Need I remind you that this entire situation is a non-issue for our users? It's only your users and admin who are being dramatic and talking about defederation and leaving Lemmy. I'm just trying to explain that if you make defamatory statements about other people on a public forum, you don't get to turn around and cry bullying when they make fun of you in return.
I think it's interesting to ask whether people in the opt-out countries are really consenting. Can you really say someone has consented if you never actually made the request?
