Uhh, yeah, that's how federation works. The whole point is that we want to browse other instances that we are federated with in peace. You want to browse our communities without being mocked. We want to browse your communities without being mocked. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

Need I remind you that this entire situation is a non-issue for our users? It's only your users and admin who are being dramatic and talking about defederation and leaving Lemmy. I'm just trying to explain that if you make defamatory statements about other people on a public forum, you don't get to turn around and cry bullying when they make fun of you in return.

You want to be able to talk shit about everyone else with no consequences, but can't handle when people stand up and defend themselves against bullying and harassment. Justify it however you like, it's toxic to talk about people like that and its even worse to label an entire server of thousands with an ignorant stereotype. If it bothers you to have your toxicity publicly exposed and mocked, than maybe try not being so hateful and judgmental, and you wouldn't have to worry about it.

So it's okay for your users to say SJW should be nuked from orbit, is full of adult kids that have never done anything worthwhile, and is terrible, the 4chan of the fediverse? You see no problem with your users harassing and bullying us with those comments?

But if we screenshot those same comments, which nobody forced them to say, and laugh about them on our own server, suddenly we are bullying you? Seems like you have double standards. Here's a thought, if you had removed that comment for being overly dramatic and toxic in the first place, there wouldn't have been anything to screenshot.

Certain Lemmy instances allow their users to engage in toxic and bullying behavior that makes the platform worse for all of the non-toxic servers. You should probably look at some of your own users, along with hexbears and lemmygrad, for the real source of harassment and drama on Lemmy. That community is just making public the way that some people act and continue to get protected by their admins.

The group of hateful losers are the ones going around talking about nuking a fellow Lemmy instance from orbit because... of why exactly? Maybe because we don't support the CCP and the Russian invasion of Ukraine? Regardless, that's the source of the toxicity, not my server.

AFAIK, no. I think it's important to note that it would provide a vector for bad actors to harass moderators. I agree with the spirit of transparency, but people need to understand that there will likely be undesirable consequences from making this information public.

It doesn't need to be the answer. It just needs to be an answer for certain use cases. Both platforms can easily coexist. That's the beauty of federation.
