You could argue that cloud servers are a cost like a cartridge. A stupid forced cost.

Have you calibrated your printer, do you know it's dimensionally accurate? I would buy a box of hatchbox Petg just for a sanity check against the printer/spool.

Sonos is great but it's just a few dollars more for an even better device with more flexibility (if you're starting fresh).

I started with a conbee which led to a lot of issues.

Definitely start with a beefy zigbee coordinator. I like the Ukrainian made SLZB-06. It can be USB or networked. I prefer networked, that way I can move it to a more central location in the house and keep my HA running as a VM in the basement.

My heart is always with Debian, but Bazzite is a surprisingly useable immutable OS. I would suggest using it for your core suite then use Distrobox w/ Debian for any apps outside of that. It's so snappy!
