Ooooh, that sounds way better than one of those “pour boiling water into this pouch and wait 5 minutes” meals.

That sounds awesome. Do you have a pic you can share?

You know, that’s not the answer I would have come up with first on my own, but it’s a great answer.

What’s your best… (self.hammocks)

…Piece of hammock-related gear? …Advice to someone getting into hammock camping? …Trip experience (where you used a hammock)? …Camping meal? Because everyone needs to eat!

I’m not that guy (the one you asked to reply…), but I will say this as a lover of the first two games - play them. They are remarkable games and 20ish years after coming out I still play them (and do so regularly). If you’re a younger gamer you may find the interface or the graphics a bit clunky, but really, you ought to give them a go.

From my time on the Baldurs Gate subreddit, it seems like 3 was less story connected (per others’ comments), but that was before some of the added characters were announced (e.g. Minsc). That said, I haven’t played 3 at all, so I can’t comment personally.

tl;dr: I don’t know if you’ll be missing out in the story by starting with 3, but you should definitely play 1 & 2 because they’re incredible games.

When I lived in Vegas my apartment complex would regularly drop blocks of ice in the pool in the summer. Surely we can scale that shit up for the oceans, right? …Right?

Isn’t a product of the fediverse yet.

That looks absolutely pleasant. I would fall asleep so fast in that setup. Well done!

Pork belly burnt ends are next on my list of things to make.

I hate that this counts as “news.”

How to add a mod? (self.lemmy_support)

I know if someone posts in a community you run you can add them as a mod, but is that the only way to do so? Just trying to better understand what I can do as a mod (and where / how to do it). Thanks all.

I fully expect the defense to be, “Well, we can’t discriminate based on the applicant’s race, sex, religion, etc… but the constitution doesn’t say anything about discrimination based on legacy status.”

I love whoopie slings - glad they worked out for you!

Weekend plans? (self.hammocks)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by goforliftoff to c/hammocks

Let me hear about your weekend hammock plans. Or anything fun you're doing this weekend. It's been raining where I live for the last 5 days, and it doesn't look like it's stopping until Sunday... maybe. Let me live vicariously through your outdoor adventures, I beg you!

Love that A&M gets Texas at Kyle in year one. Looking forward to that rivalry rekindling. In the meantime, here’s to a ‘23 season that can’t get worse for A&M than ‘22, right? Right…?

Liking the app quite a bit. One thing I miss from Apollo was the ability to press a down button (bottom right) and skip all the comment replies and jump to the next main comment. Any chance of adding that? Or is it there and I’m missing it already? Thanks for your work!

Welcome! (self.hammocks)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by goforliftoff to c/hammocks

Just a first post to welcome folks. Hopefully we can get a nice little community going here. I love hammock camping and getting / tinkering with new gear. Not the cheapest hobby, but one could do worse. Anyway, welcome all.
