You can't blame climate change on just one nation. That's impossible.
I care a lot about geopolitics. That's what I'm saying. Geopolitically, the rest of the world is unaffected except for entertainment and popcorn.
I'm not saying they aren't powerful, just pointing out that the world isn't very much affected by elections.
Trump doesn't control the military, and there's big money to be made in war. Currently, arms manufacturers are some of the most profitable companies. Why stop that revenue? Most likely, if the US ever stops funding Ukraine, then Europe will fund Ukraine and turn more independent and away from relying on the US for defence. Why would the US want an independent Europe?
Or maybe it's just a masterplan from Putin, who somehow, has also convinced the generals to go along with this.
If anything, I'd be more concerned about Israel and the Middle East. It's hard to believe that right now, Israel is holding back. Watch this space, you know?
Nuclear energy is a scam devised by mining companies and fossil fuels. That's not to say it's not green or not effective. But it takes almost a decade to get a single plant running efficiently and there are multiple risks involved in its operation.
Renewable energy on the other hand is so compact and efficient you can have it on roads, or on your house, or backyard, or really wherever there's sun and wind. You can be independent with renewable energy, literally go off the grid.
Okay, what have the US Democrats done to prevent emissions? Since from my I've seen, they didn't do a whole lot. Nor were they running on promises to help prevent climate change.
I'm aware. What do you expect me to do about it?
Okay, tell me how 2016 affected Sealand, or better yet, maybe try a real country like New Caledonia.

Never mind the fact that Lemmy is predominantly american and that instances outside of the US haven't gotten downvoted for also not caring. I'm trying to say is that Americans downvoted me, and those who are not American upvoted me. Still--Don't care
