Regular ice cream? Agree

Soft serve? Cone, unless I feel like going wild on the toppings

not a fuckin toddler, I can do it myself

The point isn't that you're somehow lesser than that person, it's less work overall for someone who's already opened a door to keep it open for the next person if they're close than it is for the next person to open it

Humans, being naturally social and helpful creatures (generally), will tend to do this subconsciously

and I dont need your bitchy attitude when i dont thank you for something i didnt want.

I legitimately have never heard of this happening. I can believe it did to you once, or that someone you knew did it a lot because they were a prick, but I doubt it's a regular problem at all.

these things ARE related dammit!

No, they're not? I've held open soooooo many doors with my headphones on and blasting music, not a word said between me and anyone else. Phone calls a literally ALL speech

2-party consent states exist, and make this annoying if someone wants to be a dickhead about things

expecting everyone to make huge accomodations for their fucking fragility are ridiculous.

Writing an email isn't a huge accommodation unless you're illiterate

My office got a box of .38 G2s recently as opposed to our usual .7 or 1.0 and made sure to snag 8 of them and hide them in a couple spots at my desk as they slowly vanish

Every time I have to use one of the .7s now it's just not the same

When I worked Ina warehouse/yard we'd regularly need to text each other in our off hours for very simple "hey where did you put x" or similar because management couldn't be fucked to help us organize efficiently

I'll help out a fellow wage slave if me taking 15s to reply would save them a few minutes of hassle

But I've only ever done that at non-corporate places where I actually like the co-workers on my pay level, the corporate jobs provided communication software and that shit was programmed to be muted the minute I was off automatically

Yeah, thanking someone who's genuinely offering you something is basic manners and to be expected.

I was more responding to the explaining part because I've been told in person that it's perceived as rude (only by one person, even with a thank you) and I don't want that becoming more common, for the reasons I already mentioned

Problem is this more often than not results in "awwww come on, why not?"

So many of us NDs have developed the method of explaining why we decline when we do so to just avoid the point. No, I'm not feeling that right now, thanks anyway! Works wonders

That's the minimum, they're seeking damages starting at 50k

Lie better, it's clear you've never clicked trough a source in your life

Unless of course CNN directly linking to the report isn't a source somehow

Fun fact about Wikipedia:

Those numbers in brackets are reference numbers. At the bottom of the article they'll be listed out (you can actually click the number and it'll take you right to the footnote) with links to those sources

I wonder if that is in any way related to defunding the police so they have not enough resources

It doesn't, because that didn't happen
