Devices on tasmota firmware can link directly to each other using device group without setting up any automation/hub.

Can't find any shops selling preflashed ones for the switch in UK (online at least)

Budget wise there's:

  1. Localbytes plug

  2. Shelly Plus mini

Does the outhouse still have wifi coverage?

I’d recommend Sonoff zbmini L2

Yep, like others mentioned it's innovelli

Another way to get any neutral required switches working without neutral is this small hack

As for sliders, that's gonna be pretty hard to get since the ones that do have it are connected to tuya mcu so you can't decouple the relay on those even with esphome. Except paddle/button dimmer like martin jerry and tessan.

Which smart switch are you using now? You can probably modify the firmware to decouple the relay

Yeah this, use the trigger when wiz light goes from unavailable to online for the automation

Can you still change the wall switch?

  1. There’s martin jerry 3/4 way switches. If you need to save a bit, you can just install a single relay like sonoff mini.

Smart plug seems to be the obvious choice but it’s pretty useless if the light switch is turned off. Installing a relay like sonoff mini is probably the better option.

Yes, you will be reusing the existing 2 way wiring.

If you don't intend to add the extra live wire, then you'll need to change your 3 gang switch to a momentary type or convert one of them to momentary

Downstairs I have a 'dumb' triple light switch (like this) which controls the outdoor porch light, the downstairs hallway light, and the upstairs hallway light. The upstairs hallway light is in a 2 way configuration, with the second switch being a single gang switch upstairs.

So only 1 gang on the switch is on a 2 way wiring? Just to clarify

There’s also the sonoff tx ultimate, which technically is a touch switch but it’s got haptic feedback (like iphone’s touchid button) and speaker.

Which you can still disable
