You’re hoping Google “wins” a “fight” against the government of Canada for the regulation of its news business, and your rationale is that “government regulation of the internet” has contributed to “death”… and your example of that is North Korea?!!

That’s incredibly odd, sorry to say. It’s the strangest excuse for corporate bootlicking I have ever heard. It makes no sense at all to put all “governments” in the same category — Canada with North Korea and Russia, all in the same bag. And it’s even worse that you’re using these countries as examples when the news story here is about Canada making Google pay news publishers for use of their stories. Is this what North Korea does? North Koreans die by the thousands because their search engines have to pay the state news publisher?

I can’t access it either! https://beehaw.org/c/[email protected] gives me a “404: no such community” or something. I’d love to join if I could.

Oh, of course! Stealing content for clickbait in lieu of actually doing your job is the use case for twitter.

So the one thing on Reddit that you wish to leave behind is mods deleting transphobic comments? Lol

I think that falls into the “necessary for your job” exception. Even authors who don’t want to be in a pro-Nazi platform will be nagged into it by agents and publishers… at least for now. Maybe when Elon goes full alt-reich that’ll change.

So a hot dog is a taco, got it. I’m sure this will settle all arguments and not inspire any further arguments. Thanks, internet!!

Anyone still on Twitter (who doesn’t absolutely need to be on Twitter for their job) must either enjoy harassing others or somehow enjoy being harassed?

I have no clue why anyone who isn’t a right-wing dingbat would use Twitter for fun or whatever. It’s so not fun to be on a platform run by a little manbaby, for a little manbaby.

And kept all of “her” changes.

I’m from the future and I’d like to congratulate you on your prediction! It wasn’t exactly a long shot, but… yeah. You got it exactly right.

Yeah! It’s so fun (or infuriating if you’re a victim lol) to see the soft-spoken one in the group get a fascist card and trick everyone with their meekness.

I absolutely love Secret Hitler. It’s funny, it’s always a huge hit at parties, the game pieces are very high-quality. It’s amazing.

Yeah, the humor on big subreddits always tended to be so juvenile. It was cringeworthy whenever a “haha boobs lol” kind of joke got upvoted to the top of threads. Folks here seem to be much more in control of themselves!
