What about the words that are only different in tone.

Content and content

It's not a choice. It's like some primal instinct or something.

Edit: urinals don't typically bother me but if you try to talk I'm done. Can't do the troughs. It's not insecurity it's just a little privacy and peace is nice.

Emphasis on speculation, but I found the instance that had its ml domain taken away

Maybe Lemmy.ml had a free domain but they got to keep it because they had it for a longer time. Who knows?

[–] can 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Technically yes, but in practice for any of the big instances, not really.

I still see all the communities I want from SJW: local, dot world, dot ml, lemm.ee, etc

Exception is Beehaw because they defederated us but they also deferedated Lemmy.world too so they've already cut themselves from most users. I have an acct there anyway but don't feel the need to check it much anymore.

Edit: another notable example is Lemmy.world won't allow federating with any communities focusing on piracy.

Edit2: why downvote this? Am I incorrect?

It's been speculated they paid for theirs because other sites and at least one instance had their free .ml domains revoked

Thank you. I forgot about meanwhileongrad. That makes sense.

I understand lemmy.world, but I'm curious what makes you say that about the other two? Stricter defederation or something?

[–] can 4 points 1 day ago

A lot of it is nervous laughter now but I'm sure it's the same down there now too.

Any instance whose rules you agree with is good. Picking a big one that's not the biggest is a good call so good job.

Censorship resistant - By hosting your own server, you can be in full control of your content.").

Yes, exactly, you can host your own or sign up at one someone's already hosts. The resistance is in the ability to choose which admins you trust and align with your views while still interacting with the rest of us.

The devs run their own and have their own rules and censorship but you don't have to sign up there. Does that help?

In a letter issued Tuesday, the school's principal Aaron Hobbs said the intention "was to foster a message of peace and remembrance, reflecting on the importance of unity and reconciliation," but that he has since become aware the song "caused significant distress to some members of our school community."

"For this, I would like to offer my apologies," he said.

The song title, when translated to English, roughly means "This Is Peace." Many comments on multiple Youtube videos of the song, speak of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the suffering of Palestinians, though the song itself makes no mention of the conflict in the Middle East.

"The inclusion of a song that could be seen as politically charged was not in line with the values of respect and unity that we strive to uphold at this school," wrote Hobbs

I don't know the song but this doesn't look good.

However, several human rights advocacy groups are now condemning the backlash, calling it anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab.

"Just because the language is Arabic?" asked Jamila Ewais, a researcher with the Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East's anti-racism program. "What if someone was singing this language, let's say this song or like a similar song in, I don't know German or Ukrainian language?"

Exactly.

Paywall, sorry

Do you source them yourself or go to a mechanic?

I'm trying not to be so cynical but we'll see how I feel next week
