No it be more like

Step 4: sleep in boring non-bug filled bathroom for 9 days

Step 5: go home with no cash because you chose bathroom vacation instead of cash

As someone whose subs got a lot of temu spam, I'm glad those subs are still private because I've been busy and it would've sucked to have to clean up that mess.

It sucks for those communities, but hopefully that helps move people (and not the bots) here.

some large ones like r/Minecraft have shutdown

Just a heads up, this is part of the comment from the dev:

Edit for clarification: This notice is only about the changelogs posts the Java Team has been making for quite some time which we have decided stop, it is not an official policy for all of Mojang Studios, Xbox or Microsoft.

It'd be cool if they did shutdown, but it's just one team moving things back to the official site rather than to reddit.

https://kbin.social/m/TIHI appears to be the official replacement

Also native search works pretty well https://sh.itjust.works/search?q=cat&type=Communities&listingType=All&page=1&sort=TopAll

These should help. Definitely agree about the amount of content. There's a lot of subs that haven't even migrated over yet.

Even if you do nothing else, make sure to upvote content and comments, and subscribe to communities. Bringing content over from reddit (or even just googling stuff) to the new applicable community would be extra helpful (a lot of empty communities at the moment).

Things keep looking better here, so I'm optimistic about lemmy.

Still not sure how to add sidebar rules.

  1. Please don't post referral links.
  2. Please post only free things (no contests or things that cost money)
  3. Use the most direct link (no blogspam/freebie sites)
