While you are correct that dividends would be paid, it just wouldn't happen on this scale or to this detriment, imo. Buybacks are used as a crutch to generate Short-term profit and lead to executives and companies focusing on short-term goals. They artificially increase EPS for executive compensation. This is all exacerbated when companies know they're going to be bailed out by taxpayers because there are only 2 companies that make planes now, or 3 media companies setting prices together.

Between 1998 and 2018, the plane manufacturer also manufactured a whopping $61.0 billion in stock buybacks, amounting to 81.8 percent of its profits. Add in dividends and Boeing's shareholders received 121 percent of its profits.

Stock buybacks should be illegal or at least heavily regulated. They're stealing money from their employees, putting their company in peril by not having cash on hand, and stunting innovation. Imagine if major companies had to put profit back into their company? Instead it's a game to see how much you can exploit the working class, how little you can innovate and still get by (it's easy when you have no competition), and gamble (after lobbying with minimal money) that your political plants will force the taxpayers you're exploiting to bail you out. It's pretty disgusting.

Absolutely - Nolan and Joy are incredible, Expanse is master class. However, (and I hate to defend them after GOT ending) D&D aren't the worst - but they are nowhere near these two. The first few seasons of GOT is still fantastic TV. 3 Body Problem had a few issues of missteps in adaptation, but I thought they largely did a good job with the pacing, tone and changes so far. I'd still say it's a good and entertaining show, just not as tight as Fallout or Expanse, since I can point out a few things that don't make a lot of sense.

Super cool. I love the idea of exploring Indian culture and stories through high fantasy in the west. We get so little exposure besides some Bollywood films.

Columbia called the local police to disperse a situation that was getting unsafe fast

Got it, so they called in backup for the neo-nazi assholes.

That's a great place to get a lot of technical, customer service and project management experience.

It could help if people actually voted. Can't get people to do the bare minimum of show up to a polling location every 2 years and do 20 minutes of research. Good luck getting those same people to quit their jobs and strike while living pay check to pay check.

If it's getting bad, use it to do a deep clean on your pans. Let the half lemon soak in the pan and scrub with the rind.

I believe FAA is a captured agency as well, like just about every government agency at this point.

Don't give up! Fried eggs are much easier. I've got mine on lock. I'll sometimes do the double oil trick with scrambled eggs. I cook mine low and slow, which I think is a little more difficult to get the oil just right. When I do a faster cook and constantly move them, I've had better results.
