Americans who travel, as with all travelers, tend to become open-mindedx curious and engaging people; traveling makes people better.

haha, no, they're pretty important across the board for travel.

other countries treat travelers very nicely. even Vietnam, which is the only country I was kind of nervous about visiting.

staying and fixing the country isn't really worth it right now, that's like suggesting someone stay in an abuseive household and "fix" their abusive father.

get out of the house first, go from there.

there are a lot of jobs teaching English and German in asia, you can get a work visa, teach 25 hours a week, you'll save a couple thousand a month and can buy anything you want.

[–] Varyk 5 points 1 week ago

not the only two options, you can legally stay in other countries very easily.

it rocks out here, have fun.

I feel your frustration.

I got my passport 15 years ago and have been traveling since then, and since then family members, friends and strangers have complained to me about things that could easily be remedied by moving.

one friend has been complaining about the states pretty much the entire time since I left, asking me how she can travel like I do, and even today is still saying "I just have to get a passport and get out of here", which is what she was saying 15 years ago.

by having a passport you can instantly decrease your cost of living and if you're a native English speaker, start saving money instantly. there's great food in other countries and tons to learn, you don't have to overstay a tourist visa to travel.

that's the whole point of visas, you legally stay in the country

"It's not my job to force you into making sense by asking you clarifying questions."

since the information is very clear and succinct, other people understand what I'm saying, and you are having the comprehension problem, if you want further clarification, it is your job to ask that clarifying question politely and clearly.

"I'm just trying to offer suggestions to help you figure out why you're getting voted down so hard"

don't need them, the downvotes aren't tricky to figure out.

  1. i am sincere; the internet does not like that.

  2. I offer practical, simple answers; hipster cynics do not like that.

  3. I don't bother explaining every single detail of every broad concept; people don't like asking for help or clarification(makes them nervous).

but I don't really care about the cretins; people who are paying attention and thinking critically do ask me for help or information, and I provide that.

I'm uninterested in scraping the bottom of the barrel currying favor from disrespectful, lazy commenters.

"you claim that you clearly stated that nothing is stopping him right now"

do i? I don't remember that. are you extrapolating or assuming again?

"That is absolutely not what anyone thought you said"

plenty of people do understand, and I am not concerned with those who misunderstand or attack me, flame wars are just a fun distraction in which I get to continue providing information for those actually paying attention.

"you do you. "

hot damn, could have just said that.

no point changing what works.

I am so curious how large the furry population is in general compared to the demographics on Lemmy.

I'm also curious about the country distribution on lemmy.

ah, thank you, I sort of stopped following his proclamations.

I have Ubuntu 20.04.1, I've installed ollama and a couple llms, it's amazing, but tinyllama is gibberish and I've just realized I don't know how to remove the llms from my computer or where they're stored, or anything about them.

Mistral is very impressive btw

I learned a lot about donestication from this video. I knew domestication was basically eugenic, but I didn't realize it could happen in so few generations.

The concluding scene in which

spoilerCassie actually goes through with the surgery at having a bit of a breakdown

was maybe the most stressful thing I had ever read up to that point.

I had read a more dramatic events in other books, but I knew the gang so well that it was extremely harrowing seeing Cassie make this decision.

This is the most fun I've had with any Ninja turtles media since like that comic book where they had to fight a bunch of stuff some kid drew because he had a magic crystal.

The art is beautiful and very cool, the jokes were really fun, the turtles have great personalities and everyone is a great voice actor.

I had so much fun watching this.

There were even a few spots in the movie, like more than one where I was on the edge of my seat enthralled by the action sequences.

Highly recommended.

Hilarious when Marco suggests that ax sees how many cinnabons he can eat before exploding, and ax says, oh yeah no, I already did that.

Also, how weird is this inside cover, why is Cassie giggling and pointing at a cow?

Always makes me shudder, when the gang is inside the ocean acquiring some monster.

Especially giant squid, Reading sphere at 10 years old or however old I was terrified me.

Pretty horrifying when they're all half drowning trying to demotph and remorph in the ocean.

Little too megaman for my preference, but still very impressive work.

I don't even know if I've seen a chee portrait before, let alone one that captures their essence so well.
