Are you trolling (or actively propaganding?)

These are 2 different individuals from 2 different parties. Both center right by French standards, which makes them center left by US standards, but Claude Malhuret is absolutely not the same person as Edouard Philippe.

You know what, fair point. It wasn't meant to encourage despair as much as vent my jadedness, and express my frustration at the fact that so many people still think this is just some shitty people in an otherwise democratic context...

But yes, super fair point. I hope you all find a way to uprise and fight this. You have a lot of friends up here.

To be fair, Medicare, Medicaid and 'health' in there could be massively less expensive, but not by virtue of cutting into the system as-is, but rather by redesigning it with a centralized gov-owned and managed insurance system (i.e. socialized medicine as all modern countries do)

I'm in Canada, and I can 100% guarantee we won't capitulate, even if we're outnumbered and outgunned 100:1 :)

Blessed be the fucking fruit i guess, eh?

You still think there would actually be real midterms, or even midterms at all, by now?

Where are you getting the anti ecology and the far right racism from?

It sounds like you're describing the Regroupement Nationale of Lepen, but this is the Les Indépendants party, which is center right by France's standards - it's basically a party aligned with Elizabeth Warren's views.

In this super propagandized environment we're in, i find comments like this deplorable (if not dangerous)... Unless it's an honest mistake?

The "kill the first amendment" act

It's a question of wording in OP's post - basically you tax based on net worth. And yes, boohoo it may mean you sell some of your buildings or part of your company to get there - including to things like Employee Ownership Trusts and other perfectly acceptable "curbed capitalistic" options.

It's still capitalism, don't get your dollar-bill panties in a bunch folks, but not savage unfettered capitalism, that's all.

Why do you think Bezos is repurposing the Washington Post to become an agent of "the free markets"? The writing is on the wall...

[–] Ulvain 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'd say the main issue isn't capitalism per se, it's unfettered capitalism with no guardrails in place. In a social democracy Bernie style, the economic system is still capitalistic - he's always said so - but with a number of constraints that distribute wealth equitably and that prevents the accumulation of power in very few hands.

The individualistic nature of humans make fully "communist" type systems oppressive and unrealistic, IMO. You need to give so much power to those enforcing this kind of system that they systematically end up using it to feed their own personal greed for wealth and power.

But a social democrat system still allows for individual freedoms and self interest - it's just not so deeply "savage" that limitless money can be converted to limitless power to change rules to make it easier to accumulate limitless money.

"look i don't mean to be rude or anything, but go fucking fuck yourself with a rusty dildo, you piece of everlasting shit. I hope you die, i hope Disney and Nestle get fucked in the ass."

There, i don't think an ai would say this, it would violate 15 policies :)
