It, technically, isn't because it is capable of 20W max.
Gypsum board isn't going to help but I would look into your power supply first. If you're not getting ~13.8V (per rig's specs) you aren't going to get good performance. Also, consider your roofing material, height from ground, and proximity to metal/wiring because they all can muck things up.
There is a chance, based on antenna's height, you have a quasi-nvis antenna that isn't getting enough power and the signal just isn't being heard because your propagation is close to home (regional).
Having said that, I used a 10m dipole with my G90 for about a year (I used the tuner to get on other bands) and it was in the eave crawlspace of my Cape (up ~10ft-ish). I did reasonably well all things considered but it was somewhat directional.
I thought you were referring to the new, appropriated, use of "crypto" and expected to see something about someone shilling trash over the airwaves.
Imagine my surprise when I learned you actually meant "crypto" in its original meaning!
I'm running a Yaesu FT-450D into a 40m OCFD. I have a 10m dipole which I'm currently using as a receive antenna for my MFJ-1026 signal enhancer (electronically phased array). I also have a Heathkit HW-101 which I've yet to get hooked up because I need more desk space. I have an EQplus by W2IHY to get some compression on to my audio. I have a MFJ-969 for an external tuner.
Soon, I hope to get a Comet vertical up. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get it in the air. I have a LoG (loop on ground) receive antenna as well but it has limited potential.
Favorite mode? That's a tougher one. Lately, I've been using SSB more but I use digital modes as well.
There's Cloudlog. I've looked at it but am happy with cqrlog. I believe you can either self-host it (Raspberry Pi) or find an online host.
On the computer, I use cqrlog. As a Linux-user I've found it integrates well with flrig.
When out in the field, I'm using paper and pencil. Paper doesn't need batteries, will dry out if it gets wet, and pencil won't run. I write everything consistent with Fast Log Entry (FLE). When I get home, I use Vim and flecli to make adif files for upload, etc.
That's kind of where I'm heading but I do want to have something that will be effective for Field Day as well. I found it confusing at times this year with my cheapo headset.
I've looked at aviation headsets and they do look heavy but would be effective at isolation.
Kind of points out the lie of a "fair market." They like to hold that with the same information, everyone can make informed decisions. That claim breaks down when you're getting the information before your competitors.
How would this be any different from the horse racing/sporting event betting scams organized crime ran in the early 20th century? It's only faster. Where mobsters where relying on telecast delays and fixed games, these organizations are hoping to rely on RF transmissions and insider trading.
How long until the bitcoin grifters try to take HF spectrum? They're already trying on VHF/UHF and some are using frequencies which hand the potential to interfere with emergency services, etc.
I'm against this shit, in case anyone was wondering.

Movies? No Indiana Jones for me.
Do you have any newspaper stories? I was wondering about communication myself. When you say "AM," I'm assuming you referring to commercial radio.
Had anyone heard anything about Hams?
