You have to realize that's not what happened here, right? This was not voluntary, and career ending. That 9.6 mill won't go as far as you think with lawyers fees, and then the medical bills and likely extensive rehab.

Have you read Herbert West: Reanimator? I think that one in particular had an especially problematic description of a black man. I had to put down the anthology for a bit when I got there.

Typically if you are complimenting someone on a choice that they made, as opposed to something they don't have control over (or at least not easy control) you're good.

The example in the comic is good, because it's complimenting a choice. Complimenting someone's body features can land you in the 'creepy' camp, depending on the context.

I wasn't trying to conflate the two things. I was providing a source on where the "farms" came from, and clarified that they were meant to help "drug addicts" (not minimizing your experience- just reinforcing that the wording is already not great from a lens of treating maladaptive substance use, in addition to being completely inappropriate for people who take prescribed medications.)

I neither agreed not disagreed, though I do find it problematic to be enrolling people who are neurodivergent into any kind of list for any reason without their expressed consent and ability to withdraw that consent at any times. If the reason is purely investigation/research as you say, then I believe that it should be under the same rigor and ethics considerations as any other research.

It's the stillness. It's there even when the pupils aren't visible, although there are some changes with the eyes after death (tache noir comes to mind).

I would argue that there are plenty. Ursula Vernon comes to mind.

How did Israel come second and Switzerland get 0 points? My mind is boggled.
