Nevermind, they went with an election denier that would love to drag us into fascistism as fast as possible. Hopefully every R in a purple district is replaced come election time.

Obviously if you're blackout drunk because you "like beer", the abuse never happened. /s

" Am I being detained or am I free to go?" If detained "then you shut the fuck up!"

The right is too far right of the moderates to agree on anything. They need a few purple state moderates to lay down the future of their seat and sit down with the Democrats and work out a compromise. Being in a purple state and you save the house it just might work out for them. Current course is likely to get them all primaried OR replaced with a Democrat next election.

Belle "Gaston, you are positively primeval."

That was added during the cold war by lunatics that thought it would protect us from communism somehow.

It is a way to segregate the "worthy" from the rest (or vice versa I guess depending on if your "worthy" or not).

This is also the reason that immigrants became "illegal". If they are legal you have to pay them a real wage/benefits/pay taxes for them. If you make them "illegal" you can have very cheap labor (slaves) that can't rat you out or they are deported. They also only give corporations a slap on the wrist when they "had no idea they were illegal". Then the corp just replaces them with "new hires" who are totally "NOT illegal" and starts the process all over until the next time.

Sync (at least for me) is broken with the latest rc build. I'm fine with this because I'm the silly that is running alpha/beta/rc builds of lemmy on my instance.

I tried many waiting for Sync release on Lemmy, but nothing felt as complete, it's just far and away the best IMHO.

It means that the alarm bells went off and people paid more attention to capitalism, and voting in people that actively worked against them, because those elected officials treated people they disliked even worse. Then we got a wanna be dictator that went full "journalists are an enemy of the state" because they say mean (TRUE) things about him. Journalists now choose between being able to eat, or sounding the alarm that costs them a job (and falls on deaf ears).

Probably because in a free from authoritarian government the free press is supposed to be the ultimate checks and balances on personal liberty. When you can't even write something negative about a leader without being dismembered in a hotel and disposed of in duffle bags like trash, that should be ringing alarms for anyone that isn't licking boots.

As the title states, I'm a silly face and had tried the previous beta versions and it changed the database for userdata and broke logins completely. The new 0.19.0 beta/rc releases of Lemmy and Lemmy-ui have allowed me to login from the web again, but Sync is still broken. I'm not sure if this can be fixed like it was done for the 0.18.4-beta.8 fix or not.

I'm also going to try and resist the urge to run beta when 0.19.0 goes release so I won't have this issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a PSA that if you using something other than your ISP for DNS that you may want to double-check that you aren't blocking new domains (< 30 days old), or if you are, you may want to add all the new Lemmy domains to your allowlist.

I have this checked in NextDNS and was wondering why I couldn't see certain sites, and looking at the logs I had a yureka! moment.
