My 6ish year old Sony was purchased with the built in OS as my least important quality, as I knew that someday it’d be unsupportable as far as new apps, but that a third party box would provide a good experience with a single HDMI. I’m actually still using the built in OS but I can tell that it’s getting slower and buggier, so I’m thinking of getting a Roku soon.

Eh, I’d say earlier than that. Twitter was pretty much trash by 2010 in my book.
So stupid. The idea that a public servant could refuse service to someone due to their personal views should immediately trigger their firing.
By the same token, can a black police officer refuse to arrest someone of their own race? Can a tax auditor refuse to investigate a pedo if they have those same beliefs? Can a permit office refuse to let a Catholic Church add on a wing?
I had the opposite problem. I couldn’t get the registration to take on .works but kbin happened just fine.
I’m still having challenges getting an account to actually go through at Lemmy.World. I’m able to see content from another instance, but I’m a fan of looking at “all” as it opens up a lot of great content that you might not catch otherwise, so having multiple accounts at multiple sites is something I’m planning for at this point.
I’ve been unable to get the sign up process to finish on Lenny.world. Fill out the fields and the submit button just spins forever.
Won’t PACs make up the difference here? I imagine that there are a lot of mega donors in the Republican Party that are sick of Trump.
