This has definitely been the case with me as well. Especially as I got older and had less time to play anything.
I've always been partial to story over mechanics though. I just think the preference has tilted much further in favor of story games now.
I use feedme on my phone and page turning works with swipes as well as physical buttons. Is an on-screen swipe not as good as on screen buttons for what you prefer?

I looked up the game and it was released 3 yrs ago.
It's recent but it's not new so it's not really incorrectly posted here vs a normal games community, right?
