Saw the article yesterday that the Jets wanted to trade him and thought it might be an interesting options but that a more WR hungry team would bite. I like that they got him ASAP so he can can participate in training camp.
Player of Games - Iain Banks
Second book in the Culture series which I've never read so honestly know nothing about except that it's supposed to be good. Despite being the second book I've heard it stands alone well.
Haven't read Doomsday Book but did read To Say Nothing About the Dog. Interesting and well writ.
That's a great list. With the exception of Iain Banks. I have bounced off every book by him I've tried. Really should make another effort at Player of Games.
I took a bit of a time off from reading so when I started again this is what I gleaned as recommendations from the other printsf:
Three body problem - Liu Cixin Bobiverse - Dennis Taylor Daemon - Daniel Suarez Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky Pushing Ice - Alastair Reynolds
Honorable mention: Blindsight - Peter Watts
If I were to go with a mix of old and new: Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson I, Robot - Issac Asimov Dune - Frank Herbert
Mix of old and new, short and far future.
Yup, when my wife and I play we draft cards but to speed things up with the new people we wanted to keep the options down.
I think we'll do better than splitting the division but will likely drop some other games to compensate at around 11 wins.
Ouch, Goff deserves better. Better than Fields and Jones.
Feel we're fairly spoiled in the TE room. Man it feels nice.
Did some Googling and found this article: homebrew academy
Reading it it might make sense to kill off the yeast before trying to boil off the alcohol. Maybe use a still so all of the water vapor is captured and flavor retained?
It's not too late to start the drinking game. Soooo good.
