It is literally the same party federally and provincially.

Several provinces are trying to detach, namely Alberta for Alberta reasons.

Does no one remember the Ashley Madison leaks including .gc.ca emails?

Reminds me of the Boston Tea Party. It was in solidarity with the Great Bengali Famine caused by the East India Company.

There's a HUGE lobbying effort to convince the people in power that this is a good idea. Lots of tech-surveillance companies bidding for this to go through, so everyone is forced to use their services. You think identity theft is bad now? Wait until you need to put your ID on the internet and that gets leaked.

Related: For people in Toronto, the Canadian Stage currently has a production on called "Universal Childcare". It's artsy, educational and fun! Highly recommend checking it out if you are able.

"This is my favourite Indian restaurant." It has always been my favourite too. I think of John every time I go there. He was old, but passed away suddenly.

It's weird how the strangest things like this stick with you.

I presume there would be an employer with unionized employees who uses Manulife as their insurance provider.

A smaller company ClaimSercure had been pulling this shit with Rexall. Is it time for unions to test Canada's antitrust laws?

Kinda cool, but heavy strobe warning for any light sensitive people out there.

I'd rather leave it to the experts who study this stuff.

The only one I've heard of is called the "triple bottom line". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_bottom_line

Does this not say it all? "The report estimates that students from India alone will provide Ontario colleges with $2 billion in operating revenue for the 2023-2024 school year. That's slightly more than those colleges receive from the provincial government."

Immediate impact:

  • wealth tax.

Medium term:

  • death tax.
  • nonprofit land developments.
  • redefinition of the goal of a public corporation from maximizing profit for shareholders to something that makes sense.

Long term:

  • effective antitrust legislation, policy, and enforcement.
  • worker owned co-ops
  • civic education

Edit: I forgot unions and labour protection in immediate impact.

I did a short contract with an entity in the US and am trying to figure out how they can pay me. I have a business and a Canadian business account.

Is there a recommended low risk/effort service I should use? I am in Ontario if that matters.
