Pretty exciting to hear! The article particularly spotlighted Lapham Blvd, which saw incredible decreases in speeding.

Looks like they’re removing the yellow scaffolding.. all that appears to remain is the roof of the mechanical penthouse.

All the recommendations & presentation material are here as well as a survey and other contact info.

Its actually a really cool change that (IMO) will really benefit the city. Went to the open house yesterday & was impressed. As OPs article mentions, it really focuses on encouraging small scale multi-family dwellings like duplexes, ADUs, townhouses, etc.

A pedestrianized brady st sounds like a great idea! Its use as a business district is already well established with tons of pedestrian activity & i feel would succeed quite well with pedestrianization. Think of how much more outdoor dining there could be or the programming that could occur on game days.

Here is the link to the proposed brady st designs… personally, im quite a fan of option 3 from a practicality aspect (option 4 would likely have exceptions to vehicle restrictions, particularly between humboldt and franklun): https://bradystreet.org/pedestrian-first-study/

Its worth noting though, such plans are quite ambitious considering the obscenely prudish and backwards nature of the local businesses. They refuse to accept even the most minor of traffic calming as proven by their demands to remove the recently installed chicane.

Interesting to hear! It sounds like they were on track to have a great year & the difficulties of the SS Badger threw it into overdrive.

Id love to potentially see a 3rd ferry route at some point & i feel the demand we are seeing is a great sign that duch a concept would be viable.

I read somewhere $300 per square foot (aka 1000square ft for $3000 per month). Will try to dig up the article (think it was on urban milwaukee)

It really is beautiful! I feel like it really fits well in that area.

Love walking across the bridge & watching them work on it.

Ngl, the cutting edge viking ships look super cool! See them all the time in milwaukee.

Unfortunately, theyre obscenely expensive.. like minimum 6000 for their shortest great lakes cruise. The ships only hold like 300 people

Milwaukee department of city development is currently in the process of amending the zoning code to encourage housing choice and growth. The attached website includes some amazing info & ways to participate. The city is actively seeking feedback via "open houses" as well as an online survey.

What are your thoughts on this initiative?

If the tiny downtown loop gets this much ridership, imagine what sort of ridership it could get with expansion.

You answered your own question in Your post. Use the voice commands. Dont like the voice commands? Then take the bus.

Like really?! Entertained & productive while operating heavy machinery at high speeds? Give me a break.

It looks like c/milwaukee is listed as “nsfw”. I wonder if that is the reason. Hopefully it can be changed
