Surely it's like that line from Rattatuille, "not everybody can become a great chef, but a great chef can come from anywhere"

So in a sense it's true that you can grow up to become anything, but there's an unspoken caveat that the above is only true if you can overcome your own personal economic/societal/mental/physical/geographical obstacles.

Rule number 1 for the instance is "Be respectful..." which I think covers most cases here.

It's possible to be respectful while using "vulgar" language and vice versa etc.

That looks amazing. What's the recipe for the chicken?

My initial thought was "wow,, the sky in that place looks like it's been hand painted, weird", then I read the comments and realised it's not an actual photograph...

Your use of complimentary colour to capture the feeling of sunset is absolutely incredible. Does Procreate help with that, or do you just work that out yourself? Never used it myself.

The Sun is reporting they're on a six figure salary and were due to be presenting on Friday, but were removed.

Unless anyone else has a more credible source than "some guy on the internet says some guy down the pub told them some other guy they know says it's def this one guy", then I don't see we have any option other than to accept this as the cast iron fact it obviously is.

That's the kind of lofty standards the sun will be holding itself to, so if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

Thanks for the explanation, that's really helpful.

Most of the conversations Ive seen around this are about giving the user more tools to curate their experience by being able to block at an instance level. But as you say, that doesn't stop predatory instances scraping your data anyway, neither does defederating really.

The fact seems to be that if Meta (or chat GPT for that matter) want your data, you can't really stop them. However, your point about the whole licensing angle is really interesting, I wonder if there's a solution somewhere involving licensing your own content?

Feels kind of weird to think about but what would happen if your account had its own unique creative commons license? I guess the issue would be proving your data was stolen, but if literally everyone on the fediverse did it, any indication of fediverse related data being used by someone like meta could incur some kind of legal action?

Dunno, I don't know anything about how licensing works.

It's because "catnip" is one word.

I hadn't thought about it in ages, then I saw this post!

Good work finishing it, I'm pretty sure there's a limitless one somewhere...
