We had a family with multiple vegans, a vegetarian and a meat eater and the cooking was super inconvenient. Also because of the separate pots and pans. But at some point everyone just got used to it.

Maybe you could rent a mobility scooter instead? Some are suitable for indoors (3 wheels) and the speed is adjustable. It might save the use of your arms and hands, which are not used to the movements you need to make

I use aliases, because so many databases get security breaches. To a certain extent, i may need to trust the people who i share my name with, but i don't trust their security measures.
With our european housing market, that old lady or man might not even be able to move to a smaller size, even if they wanted to. Or, they might have a ton of kids and grand kids sleep overs, or kids that need to move back (happens a lot in our country) because they cannot find a place to live, so i generally try to be careful not to assume things when i don't know details. It's something that is basically the fault of our politicians, who could see this problem coming decades ago, but decided not to act. It's not always the fault of people that are stuck in a house that became too big and can't move because there just is no smaller appartment available, but the people who voted for politicians who let buildings be bought up by greedy investors. So, a few weeks after my very first covid attack, i still have some fogginess. So, i discovered a few tiny mistakes in my little bookmark cross stitch. And i stopped working on it, because i had already fixed some other small mistakes and i was feeling disheartened. I contemplated whether i could stitch over them (but i'm a bit of a neat freak, so this tells you how i felt about it), or rip them out, or just ignore them and keep going. And for a week i was looking at that thing on my desk, waiting for me to make a decision. So, today i picked it up again and checked my pattern. I did not make a mistake. I colored them wrong on my chart...

At one time vegan shoes were cheap. And suddenly, everywhere the non-leather shoes disappeared and vegan shoes popped up and were advertised at ridiculous prices. They just changed the wording and adjusted the prices. It's just a marketing tactic and one they use often for whatever stuff you can buy. It's not so much that people are willing to pay. It's just that vegan friendly, decently quality at decent prices are very hard to find now. At least here in the european country where i live.
