Just picked up hot wheels unleashed 2 on the steam sale. It's an absolute blast, definitely near the top of the heap of racing games for me

Because it's the next step in exerting their demands for control?

Given how much of a janky mess the original psvr was, my money is definitely on technical problems in making compatability actually work to an acceptable level for a commercial release. Because the only thing worse than not releasing compatability would be doing it badly, such that increased support issues and development costs would outweigh however many people would buy it.

I mean the above still applies. Open source hardware standards and system architectures don't really matter when you're still reliant on the same handful of companies in the industry to carry the weight of actually making the hardware.

And also a free games tap

Have they even made anything? Or just jerked themselves off and taken home a paycheck?

At that rate it just sounds like you're trying to categorically redefine SaaS to just be the crappy ones, while excluding anything with a reason to be a service

I mean it's basically inevitable that major hardware was going to be fairly dominated by big companies, just like how you're not going to find many small businesses producing regular ass non-vr monitors and the like, especially at the high end of things.

But overall, it's still a fairly diverse market. Beyond what you've mentioned, there's the valve index as easily the most major competitor. I've heard good things about pimax headsets, and they seem to be as close to a small business as the industry really can manage. Rumors say Sony is bringing psvr2 compatability to PC, which would be a huge advantage given the insanely cheap price tag for the quality. The apple vision exists, I guess, though it's locked in apples walled garden. The htc vive still seems to be around.

Mullvad is the only one, though it's in large part due to me not being in a situation where I have any important software needs in my personal life, meaning I can get away with just free options and cracked versions whenever I need something.

He's getting downvotes because he's acting like a jackass. Like yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone here has some axe or another to grind with Nintendo, they do plenty of shitty things. But to act like their games are somehow objectively bad and that everyone who likes them is just stupid? That's just divorced from reality and overall pretty immature. Obviously it's plenty possible for someone to not personally enjoy the games Nintendo puts out, art is highly subjective, but their games are generally solid.

The more I use lemmy, the more it begins to just feel like all the same problems reddit had. It has the same problems with major communities having far left moderation standards that only apply to the right, the same hive mind users that just spam the same tired out leftist talking points over and over while refusing anything close to an actual discussion.

The only upsides are that downvotes aren't used to punish you site wide, and the handful of non-leftist instances that exist, though they always end up defederated by all the major instances, effectively making them poor spaces for general discussion.

So what are your thoughts? Is this just the "more like under new management" from megamind? Is there hope for it to become a decent platform for everyone, not just the left?

Edit: yeah, it's just as bad. Fuck the retarded admins and fuck the left

To the surprise of nobody, New York City continues to brazenly ignore the constitution. This raises the question, what should be done about corrupt politicians who's reaction to being struck down in court is to double down on their tyranny while directing all their propaganda outlets to try and delegitimize the constitution and the court?
