When I was in grade school in the 60s, we had a math problem... "how old will you be in the year 2000?" I calculated 42 and thought "OMG, I'll be nearly dead by then"...

Clicking is not a good sign for a hard drive. Yup, time to replace.

Well, one of Trumps many reckonings is proposed for the 8th, so I may be out buying liquor to celebrate.

These polls are bullshit. Trump lost by 10 M votes, and he hasn't converted any new friends. No new love for the man. Only deserters.

OP didn't say "musical"...

Salt, as it dissolves into the glue. But I imagine a couple of sand grains would be fine, as long as you keep it away from the visual area, since sanding might bring it out and scratch the surface

As an older guy, growing up in the 60s and 70s, loud concerts, loud stereos, and working with power tools in the construction trade, we never thought about hearing protection. And now, my tinnitus is so bad sometimes I wish I could snip the nerves and become deaf. It's LOUD inside my head. Please protect your hearing!

This is how my wife found out she had colon cancer. Go to a doctor NOW!

Yeah, back in the day of dial-up connections, we used to insert two commas

Glue line problems (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

No photos, just a question. When I do a glue up piece for a lamp or bowl, after I am finished, it's in the house, and after a week or two, I can feel the glue lines. Finished smooth as a baby's butt, satiny, and a week later,... Ugh!

Do I need to postpone the finish work, from lopping off tenons to applying the finish (poly, or wax, or danish oil, etc)? Remount after two weeks and re-sand?

Way more work than a blank, and more precision is required. Lessons learned, mistakes made. But not bad for a first time.
