Fey Meadow Continued - Connected Battle Maps (sh.itjust.works)
 

Following through with one of the month’s themes - Paths! One of you suggested earlier to make a continued map, so you could have a larger space for battles, and I thought that Fey Meadow would be the perfect map to do that with, and the monthly theme would work really well.

‘Aliens,’ or a foreign power? Pentagon UFO chief says someone is in our backyard (thehill.com)
 

This week, the director of the U.S. government’s UFO analysis office stated that there is “evidence” of concerning unidentified flying object activity “in our backyard.” According to physicist Seán Kirkpatrick, who heads the congressionally-mandated All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, this alarming UFO activity can be attributed to one of two extraordinary sources: either a foreign power or “aliens.”

To be sure, the ramifications of either would be significant. But Kirkpatrick’s comments, which come as he is about to retire after a 27-year defense and intelligence-focused career, are more intriguing because he also says that “none” of the hundreds of military UFO reports analyzed by his office recently “have been positively attributed to foreign activities.”

At the same time, Kirkpatrick and senior defense officials have ruled out the possibility that secret U.S. programs or experimental aircraft explain the phenomena.

This map has a TON of detail. It is small, but mighty… and it took a LONG time to make. I figured this map could serve as several types of a shop - it could be a book shop, an alchemy shop, a potion shop, and perhaps a few others as well, such as a shop of magic curiosities… or even a combination of them all! It is why I provided the map without the cauldron to the Patrons - I figured if you wanted a book shop, it wouldn’t make sense to have a big ol’ boiling cauldron in the middle of it.

Boomers, in general, are a generation of spoiled children that, for the most part, have never seen the true hardships of any other generation. "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times." Boomers are the weak men that created hard times for the following generations, yet they keep living and consuming as if our world wasn't dying. "Fuck you, got mine" I guess.

Here are some of the things we are doing that to us, don't feel like sacrifices:

  1. People say become vegan, but for me personally, that would feel too restricting, so my husband and I stopped eating mammals instead. We still eat chicken, turkey, fish (rarely) and seafood (also rarely).
  2. Work remote if able
  3. Grow a garden, even if all you can do is a windowsill herb garden. There are so many possibilities you can have. If you have a balcony, you can buy a greenstalk, where you can grow tomatoes, herbs, peppers, strawberries and all kinds of stuff. It doesn't take very much space, and can be very efficient. If you have a little bit of land available, you can have some raised beds or just grow in ground (I am growing with a no dig method for example). You can also put in perenial plants such as blueberries, elder berries, black berries, raspberries, honeyberries and so much more that is really not going to require much of your attention beyong the initial effort of putting it into the ground and then harvesting once the plants start producing.
  4. Start sourcing your food locally. The best way of doing this is finding a local CSA (community supported agriculture). We are CSA members of a farm that's literally just a couple and their kids who grow 90% of their own food, and feed the local community too. The stuff you will get from CSA is not only locally grown, but it is the freshest, tastiest produce you will ever have in your life. Sometimes it even ends up saving you some coin, because you are not going through middlemen.
  5. Learn cooking from scratch.
  6. Don't have kids.

But at the end of the day, you have to remember that you are just one person. Unless corpos decide to make changes, likely nothing we do will truly matter... I do all of these things, because it makes me feel better. Gardening is therapeutic, and you get amazing food out of it. Plus it is a very valuable skill to have, especially given everything happening in the world.

Thank you! It is not a forced perspective though, it is just regular old perspective, and just the way it would look if you looked at the scene from above. The strictly top down maps are... technically... incorrect, because there is a perspective in a 3-d world. But they've sort of beein accepted as the standard for ttrpgs, which makes sense I guess since they adjust to grids the easiest.
