Given that one of the rules for the server is no bigotry, I would assume that extends to the ones we federate with from what I read.
I saw and I get why they did it, but honestly one of the reasons I came here was because I didn't have to provide an email (I don't want to be found online via email for my own reasons) or a statement of why I felt I belonged there. I liked what they were trying to do, but the gate itself was what kept me from going there.
I just didn't have it in me to provide yet another justification on why I should be allowed in to a safe space.
