I wonder how much the refs age plays in to their hatred of Arsenal, for the most part they're from Mancland, of the age where City were nothing so its fair to say they'd have supported United in their teens at a time where we were their biggest, alot of the time better rivals..I know those times made me have a strong dislike of anything united so I'd imagine it's the same for them towards us
