Liegt daran das Tabak genau wie in Australien extrem teuer ist. Die einzigen die rauchen sind chinesische Touristen, oder Leute die vor 30 Jahren damit angefangen haben und jetzt abhängig sind. Viele Händler führen auch gar keine Zigaretten mehr, weil sie damit nur ein Ziel von Ladendiebstahl oder Einbruch werden.
Die Idee war, dass NZ rauchfrei wird, und so wie es derzeit aussieht ist das schon ein realistisches Ziel gewesen weil man es tatsächlich geschafft hat den Bedarf fast zu eliminieren.
