You don't. Welcome to the Fediverse.
Morty's voice Oh, geez...
I almost made a community called the morty town locos
Naw, man, as long as your contributions are positive, it's a good thing! More interaction will encourage more interaction.
Unless, of course, you're shirking your responsibilities. If that's the case, then get off Lemmy and clean your room!

Hisssssss
Dude same... Solidly over 100 comments in 3 days. Nothing I have to say is that important.
I don't know. I find this refreshing. I had been a major lurker on reddit but here it feels like its truly a community, but maybe that's the novelty of it.
How the hell do I have 66 Posts and 304 Comments in 5 days????
Very similar thing happened to me & posting habits, when I came over to the Fediverse in November's #TwitterMigration. A genuinely social place is a huge change from corporate social (& I observed a large de-tox bonus personally, especially from Twitter).
It's kinda funny how my hyperfocus on Lemmy made it totally easy to drop my reddit habit rabbit hole.
Totally. I haven't been back since Saturday. But I sure have been spending a lot of time here. I thought ibwant going to accomplish something during the blackout. Woops!
Same here, somehow I cannot stop...
Everyone needs to write more, not less.
I have the same issueβ¦..I need to get into the habit of actually commenting instead of being a lurker, so here we go!
My issue is commenting too much. I couldn't even stop myself from replying to you now π
I was beginning to become somewhat productive, but I recently made an account and have been binging all the lovely communities on all the instances...
Let me know if you find out how to stop lol, I really feel like I'm trading my reddit addiction for this.
That's the neat part, you don't!
omg I saw you moderate a hyperhydrosis community
heck yeah
I still have to come across someone who commented and posted as much as I have in 5 days though
This is def too much
check out my account. I am here for less than a day. help haha
π. Typical adhd for you.
Trying my best not to lurk. Keep getting distracted.
Honestly same. Been commenting more in the last couple days than I have in 6 years being on reddit. The politeness of everyone makes me want to communicate here as well
It's kinda funny how my hyperfocus on Lemmy made it totally easy to drop my reddit habit rabbit hole.
Yeah I never interact on Reddit but I love the idea of helping build the community here.
too much for what?
Only use it from your phone with an app, and set a time limit on the app. Block it elsewhere.
Do you have something like a site-blocker you can use?
For now Iβll be try but more mindful but I donβt wanna stop altogether. Iβll consider if it continues and gets worse. Your hyper fixations, I might post less frequently after a while.
But like Iβm really enjoying the community and it makes me feel better, unlike Reddit
Omg so many typos Meds wore off, Iβm sleepy, got an exam in the morning oh my god
Logging off
I have a digital wellbeing app that allows me to set time limits for each individual app, and I can set work mode to allow whatever apps I want during the work day. When the app is "off" the icon turns gray and you can't open it without telling Digital Wellbeing you need 5 minutes (or turning DW off). This helps me keep my usage down, lol.
See, I would just disable it if I set it up myself, and I'm more "tech savvy" than my friends, so if I delegated this task, I would probably manage to find a work around at some point.
I do often click "use app for five minutes" lol. But often just that pop up where I basically have to give myself permission to be off task is enough to get me back on task.
