Daily reminder that Stephen Totilo (currently of Axios, formerly of Kotaku) would plug his Wii U into airport wall outlets and play games on the tablet controller thingy
Sony looked at their metrics and saw that 99% of PS Vita owners only used it for Remote Play and came to entirely the wrong conclusion.
Just buy a portable monitor. There are even ones with OLED or high refresh rates now.
$200 is a little pricey for such a single-use accessory to a $400–$500 game console
I still don't understand why it exists and who thought that it would sell.

It looks very pointless as is, but it would actually be amazing if it could play cloud games. People who don't have a PlayStation could potentially get this and a $15 subscription.

I don't know why they don't also let you run Android apps on the thing, it apparently even runs Android under the hood!
