Watching their partner have sex with someone else sometimes sparked what they called “classic little jealousy issues,” which Adams said they resolved with “more communication, more growing up.” The money was just too good. And over time, they adopted a self-affirming ideology that framed everything as just business.

i swear this is the exact plot of "Boogie Nights". i wish these young entrepreneurs all the best, but the movie didn't exactly have a happy ending.

It typically doesn't in real life either.

Once jealousy starts, it's a hard train to stop.

Old American dream: wash dishes to become a millionaire.

New American dream: insert vegetables into your anus to become a millionaire.

insert vegetables into your anus to ~~become a millionaire~~ afford rent.

Well, one sometimes works and one never does. Not in respective order, obviously. Clearly, inserting vegetables in anuses is a more valuable skill in the market.

I hate the "new American Dream" part of the title. Look how far we fallen, as people. We can make things better, but that's hard. So put an banana up your tailpipe for the Internet.

It's all incentives. You're describing the issue. Why work hard for less pay when sticking a banana up your ass gives you more money as long as you look hot while doing it

The team is trained in the basic software of the modern office: Slack for workplace communication, Google Docs for spreadsheets

lol

That was a genuinely interesting read and I can’t quite get over the figures involved. Sure, you hear of people earning big money on only fans but $13 million is wild. Appreciate that’s only a tiny percentage but I’ve seen CEOs of well known companies that take home far less than that per year.

I do wonder how it’s all sustainable though - I guess for the individuals maybe not but as long as there’s a fresh influx of creators and consumers, the company can keep running ad infinitum.

Same here man. I do feel bad though, for low income people in other countries who are addicted to this cause they can't find someone in real life.
