Depends on the platform. I’m on iOS, where I really like Ice Cubes I’ve heard megalodon is good on android.

I love Moshidon

It can view the public timelines from other instances, has alt text features, shows pronounces of the persons if it stored in their profil....

This should be the official app imo 🌞

Do you know if there is a way to mute accounts only on the home tineline? I add some accounts to lists, and I only want to see them when i'm viewing that list.

It's one of the main things keeping me on fedilab.

I don't use muting, but I ask the dev on matrix, will send you the answer :)

Muting someone only in the home timeline is a function from fedilab itself. This is not a feature from the Mastodon API and Moshidon does not have a similar feature

Thanks for reporting back, I appreciate it!

Why are all Mastodon apps similar to each other? In my opinion, there is not a single client whose UI is strikingly different from the original. 😐

I think Moshidon looks different, Fedilab is looking very different too, but that´s justz my opinion

Tusky

It was one of the first apps to let you subscribe/watch hashtags.

Mona for iOS is a dream.

I use elk.zone on desktop because I'm used to Twitter.

On Android, I like Moshidon the best. I tried elk as a PWA and it just wasn't great. Tusky was good, but I like Moshidon's interface better.

On Android I bounce between Tusky, Fedilab, and the different forks of the official app, but I use Fedilab the most.

https://phanpy.social for having an actual human readable view with nested threads. PWA, great on mobile and desktop.

This is what I use. Its open source. Loads faster than any other app ive tried. And best of all it also has really convenient features like putting reposts in a carousel, adding different slight color highlights to the background of posts depending on whether its a repost, reply or normal post. Also it has a thread counter like 2/5 so you know if a post is a part of a thread.

I'm using trunks and I find it better than the official app (android)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Literally any third-party app is better than the official app.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I don't have a favorite but i use megladon it has a feature that allows you to see what client someone uses

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’m not on Mastodon often, but Tusker has been adequate for me on IOS. I heard you can even use it for Pixelfed.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

For android definitely moshidon! Stable version is material you and has a bunch of themes and extra features. Nightly version is updated frequently. Completely free and donation funded, it's the gold standard for mastodon apps imo

Megalodon or moshidon. Not much preference between them
