hey, just wondering if you know a cheap way to obtain legit minecraft game java edition. i want to start introducing my kids to PC gaming. Does the WA govt/dept of education have this kind of deal with Microsoft to offer discounted license code? thanks

I couldn't say. It'd be news to me if gov.wa has some Minecraft education deal going.

If they did, i'd find it suspiciously proactive of our state government, hmm

@Gorgritch_umie_killa @ulun_lpg Ooh they used to. Kids with .wa.edu (I think) addresses could get Education Edition for free

There is always the minetest option.

Minetest is the 'Lemmy of the Minecraft world'. Community made and run, FLOSS, free forever and no company involvement. I've played it quite a bit and run clubs with 20 kids playing on a LAN together, they all had a blast cooperatively constructing.

Thanks, I had minetest installed in the past, they work great.
