RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan proposed detonating a thermonuclear device “on our own territory, somewhere over Siberia,” claiming that there would be no impact on the humans living below.

Simonyan’s remarks were a “deep insult” toward Siberians, said Maria Prusakova, a Communist Party member in Russia’s lower house of parliament from the Altai republic.

"Let's bomb ourselves, that'll show them"

Truly great strategy

It was quite popular during cold war. Both US and Commies were waving nuclear dicks left and right.

You know what? Do it. Announce a time and a place and then do it. Would be interesting to see if your nukes still worked or not. But to make sure, you might have to use them closer to the Kremlin just so we know you're serious.

Let’s maybe not play Russian nuclear roulette with Siberian indigenous lives.

Fine, can we agree to play Russian nuclear roulette with Margarita Simonyan's puckered anus of a face?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Acceptable.

Bombing will continue until the morale improves

middlemanSI Blastonizes News Outlets For Their Choices of Article Titles

Lemmy, 4.10.2023 - A Lemmy user has been blasting news outlets left and right [...]

@mriormro

I changed the title because I assume that many people don't know who Ms. Simonyan is, and possibly don't know even what 'RT' is if they read this out of context. 'The Moscow Times' can do that as their readers might be familiar with these names and terms assuming they have some knowledge of Russia and, above all, they are visiting a Russia-focused medium.

When reading a community called 'Europe' on a general interest platform like Lemmy, however, I can reasonably assume that many people wouldn't understand the original title. This is why I changed it.

That aside, you may think before you type, and ask questions. If you then still see a reason for your tonality, then feel free to go ahead with this style and I'll like the block feature.

I think OP was upset about you using the word "slammed", not about dropping Simonyan name.

Mayve I misunderstood (if so, I apologize). What I want to do is to add clarity if I think it's necessary, but I don't change the original author's wording or something.

I usually check post history and just straight block the ‘user’ if I see a shitty reposter bot.

Y'know your direct engagement with this only proves that this language device works.

"if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail"

Likely traditional. In this form, perhaps from Abraham Maslow, The Psychology of Science, 1966, page 15 and his earlier book Abraham H. Maslow (1962), Toward a Psychology of Being:

I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.

Bombing Serbia is a genius idea.

Welp, I managed to learn that Russia still has a Communist Party. And at least in this case, they are reasonable.
