I've tried to upload pretty high quality, but you might be able to find higher quality from reverse image search. I've got some more too that I might post in the future.

Thanks. I'll check them out on my PC later. I have a 3200x1200 desktop so finding wallpapers is always good.

I don't know if they're quite the big, but this one should be maybe? https://wallhere.com/en/wallpaper/1730971

NASA is also great for super high resolution backgrounds if you like space things!

The ring space, or slow zone, is so cool. In the books they describe it as a super dark place, with no stars at all. Only the blue glow of the alien station, which lights the ships, but nothing else. Obviously that wasn't going to work for TV, as people don't really want to watch a black screen. So they made it all blue glowing, which is pretty cool to look at. I think it takes away a bit of the mystery compared to the books, but it's a good decision for TV.

It's like when they show the stars or even a full milky-way, when they are indoors with lights on, or outside on a rock or a ship in full daylight. Our eyes have a pretty good dynamic range, but not that good of a dynamic range. But it makes for good TV so I think it's acceptable.
