I have been searching the web on how to backup/download your reddit post history, but I have not found any good tutorials. Could someone explain how to do this?

Just a thought - you should wait until the blackout is over at least, those submissions aren't accessible right now. After that, do it ASAP. Some communities are already permanently dark and more will be over time.

I've used a Python app called bdfr though not for the purposes of archiving an entire account. There are tutorials on how to do so out there if you search; perhaps there's a more purpose-made tool.

Just looked over the bdrf webpage. I think this is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!

I was unable to use it because of issue #841. 😒

If you're in Europe it's very easy. A GDPR request is supposed to give you everything you want (and don't want) from your account. Chats, comments, posts, ... everything.

If you're not in europe... phew. I don't know. But i'm sure there's a script on GitHub. Can't search GitHub right now, it's blocked in the office network :( (for good reason..)

I did not know that. I'll make sure to post in the appropriate community next time.

No worries, many of us are still getting used to this place. I'm afraid I don't now the answer to your question, this is the closest I could find, but it is to backup a subreddit, not a user profile🀷 https://github.com/rileynull/RedditLemmyImporter
