That's essentially what the episodes were. It was supposed to be revolutionary like 1, 2, and Alyx were. Episodic games were going to be the future of gaming for a hot minute.

I mean I lost a year or two to the world going a little insane witb the covid. But even removing those. There’s been literally no progress.
From the article it seems like they were using all their resources on Starfield. I bet they didn't expect the game to take that long.
