Pretty much. To be fair, Francis was grooming him for a while. The guy put in the work over a lifetime of ... religiousness I guess? IDK what they actually do, but the people who know say he was always a favorite for the job.
It's ok, he's just gonna organize a Vatican baseball team, switch the mass to English worldwide, and refuse to eat local food anywhere he goes without telling people it's fine but what he really wants is a Chicago style hot dog before explaining exactly what that is
