Maybe at least pour it in a different container? Edges on those things are sharp.

Cute cat drinking fascism branded coconut water.

One of my cats had really fluffy paws that he would stick into any and all cups of water/interesting liquid to soak it up, then he would lick it out of his paw fur. One time I left my office to get a package and when I came back the water I had left on my desk tasted suspiciously of cat litter...

How do you know the taste of cat litter

HOW DO YOU KNOW

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

BECAUSE HE HAD JUST POOPED AND PUT HIS POOPY PAW INTO MY WATER AND I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I TASTED IT. ;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;

Oh buddy oh oh no buddy noooo 😱

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Sure, you've been poopy-pawed, but how were you able to recognize the taste as kitty litter? Maybe the cat just saw you slurping down some litter and thought "oh boy, I'm gonna surprise them by adding their favorite flavor"?

From the smell, tbh. #NotOP

Have you checked with a vet about the benignity of coconut water?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

of course checking with a vet is best but with some quick checking it seems like small amounts of coconut is fine but too much will cause digestive issues and other problems because it's fatty

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The bigger concern is the potassium level

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good to know! There's no risk of running into coconut in this coconut hating household, but i like knowing what i should dive-roll off the couch to get the cat out of, and what i should get up normally and take away

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

This would be a 'get up normally' sort of thing

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Looks like it's probably not good for them, but should be fine in small amounts

Cats can have a little coconut water, as a treat

One of my cats loves rice milk. I've caught her drinking from my glass a couple of times, so now I pour a bit on a plate for her.

[–] Sixtyforce 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I wonder what they like about it since cats can't taste sugar/sweet?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's got electrolytes, what ~~plants~~ cats crave.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Unironically yes, coconut water does have a significant amount of electrolytes, I have used coconut water to recover from many a hangover/excersize set.

My Darling princess goes crazy for coconut oil! We're onto something, someone needs to manufacture coconut pouches, it'll be less stinky than the fish or poultry pouches!
