I've used freetaxusa.com for a few years now. It's not exactly free, not for how I file taxes anyway, but it's cheaper than something like TurboTax.

Free federal, $15 state filing and they'll try to upsell you on some support and audit defense schemes. Overall a pretty decent value for the convenience factor of not having to fill out paper forms, copying, and mailing. Just make sure you pay for the filing fee directly with a card. Do not choose the option to have them take it out of your refund. That incurs an extra $25 fee.

Decent value lmao we are so trained like dogs.

It should be free and automatic.

We shouldn't even have to do taxes, they already collect them when we buy things and from out pay checks.

Credit Karma Tax and Cash App Tax used to work the same way. Both have been acquired by intuit in the last few years. I really hope freetaxusa can hold strong, because they’re the last one I know of that still works that way.

It's absolutely free in the Netherlands and in most cases, you can use an app and just check if the prefilled values are correct.

Do. Not. Use. TurboTax.

Fuck those greedy basards. If you're in the US, use FreeTaxUSA. Do everything you can to get others to stop using it as well. Boycott those fuckers!!!
