Hi everyone,

I know questions like this have been asked many times, but since mesh Wi-Fi tech keeps evolving and getting more accessible, I’d love to get some fresh input.

I recently bought a property that's about 2 acres in size, and I'm planning my Wi-Fi setup. The house is small (under 1000 sq ft, single story), so I don’t expect coverage issues inside. However, I’d really like to have reliable Wi-Fi outside, especially at the pool and in the garage.

🧾 A few details:

  • I’m located in Canada, but feel free to share US product links — I can likely find the Canadian equivalents
  • I’ll have 1Gb fiber internet
  • The garage is ~30 ft from the house
  • The pool and outdoor kitchen are ~100 ft from the house
  • Cell reception is weak
  • Running Ethernet cables is not an option — wireless is a must

🎯 My goals:

  • I work from home and need fast, reliable internet inside
  • I’m installing a Sonos system across the property (house, deck, pool, garage), so I need stable Wi-Fi for high-quality audio streaming
  • I don’t need full 1Gb speeds everywhere, but I want enough bandwidth in key areas for video and audio streaming

🤔 What I need help with:

  • What kind of router would you recommend for inside the house?
  • What’s the best current (and affordable) way to extend Wi-Fi reliably to the garage and pool area? (Mesh system? Extenders? Repeaters?)

I'd prefer to start with a budget-friendly setup and upgrade over time if needed.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice!
