I thought it was still controlled by Harvey "the orc" Weinstein. I'm glad they can show it again.

Kevin Smith managed to get control back from Weinstein late last year.

Hopefully, this means a lovely 4K physical release later as well.

Damn, this movie used to be available on YouTube, looks like it's been taken down.

I downloaded it from there a while back, I have it somewhere.

Interesting movie with a great cast but not one that holds up to modern sensibilities imo

Just watched this a few days ago and it’s still very accurate.

Buddy Christ the marketing gimmick to get people interested in religion, the board room scene with every person running the company is piece of shit, black people getting written out of history with Chris Rock being unknown as 13th apostle, it raises the question of loopholes and how verbatim is religion meant to be taken and it talked about how beliefs can be manipulated but you can’t kill an Idea.

Overall it’s probably Kevin Smiths best written work.

It turns a mirror to religion to self reflect without outright attacking religion, which you need to convince people of new ideas.

I think the opposite. It challenged sensibilities when it came out. In modern times I think it is actually less scandalous. Whether Kevin Smith's comedy ages well is another story.

My aunt is a huge Kevin Smith fan but somehow she still clutches her pearls whenever this movie comes up lol

Why not? I think the messages of the movie are pretty evergreen and just as relevant today as 1999 (which wasn't that different).

Very little of Kevin Smith's work holds up, in all honesty.
