Currently planning on a trip to go see family. And dealing with this bullshit has been on my mind a lot.

So far I have a list of todos for removing data from my phone. Not looking forward to it.

Can't you back it up, wipe it, and restore it after you're safe?

Thats the plan. Gonna have to be mostly manual for a lot of it, but I'd rather it be manual than go through samsung or something.

I think going through Samsung (or even Google/Apple) is relatively safe particularly for a short term solution. Maybe that'll change in a couple years, but it's fine for now.

You're probably right, but I also am paranoid.

This was discussed. Burner while in transit, phone packed, SIM card out and hidden.

Or.

One phone second SIM card for travel.

Have you considered using a burner phone or something while you're abroad?

I have, and I don't think it would really change all that much. Regardless if it's my burner phone or actual phone, the apps, contacts, etc I need to travel would all be the same regardless. So I may as well just make a backup of all my shit to my desktop, wipe everything but the necessities, and there'll be nothing for them.

I would not take my phone or laptop to the US if I would go at all.
