Because that's what it boils down to. Paint a minority that holds little to no power as the source of problems for a group so that group attacks the minority instead of the wealthy and powerful that are their actual cause of suffering.
A Medal of Honor Recipient bucks the narrative that 'blacks are stupid, self serving above all else, lazy, and near animalistically impulsive.' Can't have that.
Evidence like this will make it easier to demonstrate just how racist the DEI purge is in court, like how blatant can you get on publicly available websites? How can you argue that it's about merit or discrimination when you only tag the non-white people DEI?
I doubt the courts would be respected even if they ruled against it. Trump is currently ignoring the courts to have people illegally kidnapped and deported to foreign prisons, with no due process, some of them to be enslaved there for life:
