They're anti-tax and pro-tarif. They've been firing Canadian support workers and devs for years and outsourcing overseas. And they've been hiding money in places like Ireland (a tax haven) by opening hubs there.

They are only still in Canada on paper at this point anyhow. Fuck them, go hang out with the wall street bros.

No Shopify. No Gretzky. No Orr. Fuck these traitors.

Orr was "baffled" why we hate Gretzky. Fuck the both of them.

Just get the fuck out so we can end the headlines of "Canadian firm actually [American thing]" they're clearly just a bunch of MBA assholes.

Is there a reasonable Canadian alternative to shopify for a small business?

[–] InEnduringGrowStrong 3 points 3 days ago

I don't know about a Canadian alternative, but PrestaShop is French, headquartered in France.
I haven't had the time to dig too much into it, but it at also seems open source.
I imagine they might have something extra to sell on top of that for revenue.

I have no experience with it whatsoever but it seemed worth a second look.

Hybris was built by Canadians and Germans but was sold to SAP some years ago.

Go for it. The lines have been drawn.

Shopify can suck the ugliest part of my taint. Anyone of any value has long since jumped from that ship.
