I've been keeping my cpu overclocked at 4.5ghz for a few years now. it was on adaptive mode +1.325v and i had all cores synched XMP profile 100 x45.

A few days ago my cpu speed suddenly gets stuck at maximum 4.0ghz. I tried a lot of things in BIOS and on Windows too, but it just won't go above the x40 multiplier anymore, even though it shows the range of x8-x45 in CPU-Z...

I tried going x42 for 4.2ghz, which is the advertised intel turbo boost frequency, but even that doesn't work at the same voltage i was using for 4.5ghz.

I also tried x42 on one core and let the rest on Auto, then sometimes one or two random cores go to 4.2ghz, but it is not keeping that speed, and on the cpu-z benchmark i get a worse score compared to 1.325v adaptive x40...

I have no thermal throttling issues, the cpu doesn't go above 60C at even 1.4v. I got AIO watercooling.

Does anyone have a clue what happened and how I can fix this? Maybe someone who experienced the same thing before?
