I have a laptop screen from an old dead laptop, the screen is still good minus a couple of scratches. Im looking to put it into a CRT case and have a little homelab that I can mess around with that is housed in the back in one neat little CRT shaped package.

Im looking to put a Mini-ATX or smaller board inside (standard is too close so I'm not gonna risk it) and have either an eDP 1.2 cable directly go into the mobo or make/buy an adapter to HDMI and plug it in from there. My first thought was to find a mobo with an eDP input but it seems like they are few and far between. the only ones I have found so far are two from ASRock and listed below.

They seem like more of a gimmick though?

I have also found this (an eDP to HDMI adapter) but it seems very expensive for what it is which is why I might be considering making it.

I guess the point of this post is to ask anyone if they:

  1. Know a way to search for mobos that contain an eDP 1.2/know of a big list where I could compare

  2. Know a way (on the cheap) to convert an eDP cable to HDMI or something of the sort (VGA will do!! Im desperate lol)

Thanks for your time everyone! If you guys want pictures ill be happy to take some tomorrow! Its getting late for me now so I'll check back on this in the morning. Goodnight everyone!
